Nemetschek Group, the leading innovator of software in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AEC/O) industry in the world, has collaborated with WakeCap Technologies, the best construction technology company in the region, specializing in sensor-driven, real-time project control systems.
This is the first step to a strategic partnership that will speed up the digitalization of the entire construction ecosystem of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The combination will also capitalize on the strengths of both businesses: Nemetschek Group can provide an industry-leading portfolio of software solutions, and WakeCap can provide an innovative sensor-powered project-controls platform that will provide real-time workforce visibility and site-wide intelligence.
WakeCap is currently applied in the giga-projects of $100B+ with the largest workforce database in the region, which monitors more than 150 million working hours, making it the sole platform that runs on such a scale in the Middle East.
The system has produced radical outcomes, including behavioral change on the construction sites, a 90 percent or above reduction in the observation of safety violations, productivity increased by 25 percent or above, and incident response increased sevenfold.
WakeCap safety solutions have become a requirement in Aramco, Neom, and Qiddiya.
The agreement provides a detailed framework through which the two companies are to work together in seeking business opportunities and initiatives in the GCC.
The WakeCap’s extensive regional knowledge and network of the largest owners and contractors in the Middle East will help Nemetschek Arabia and its affiliates enter and expand into the market much faster because of the localized knowledge and the ability to connect with an existing network of industry partners.
The partnership includes the creation of joint go-to-market plans to target stakeholders in the construction and real estate industry, and potential integration of the WakeCap technologies with the top software platforms of Nemetschek, which are Bluebeam, dTwin, and GoCanvas.
Moreover, the two organizations will cooperate on knowledge sharing and co-produce content on thought leadership, including whitepapers and digital construction projects, whilst attending similar regional industry events together.
The collaboration will also consider new synergies in the infrastructure and natural resource environments, whereby both sides recognize the growing need for smart, data-driven project delivery solutions.
Group Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Division Officer of the Nemetschek Group, Marc Nezet, comments on the matter, stating, “WakeCap is one of the most innovative frontrunners in the global construction tech landscape. Their ability to deliver real-time visibility and actionable insights at scale is reshaping how major infrastructure projects are built and managed. By combining Nemetschek’s world-class software capabilities with WakeCap’s cutting-edge solutions and regional strength, we are excited to unlock transformative outcomes for the GCC’s construction sector.”
By highlighting the importance of the deal in facilitating the digital goals of the region, Managing Director of Nemetschek Arabia, Muayad Simbawa, said, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to accelerate digital innovation in construction across the Gulf region. Together with WakeCap, we aim to deliver more connected, intelligent, and efficient project delivery models that align with the region’s national development agendas and sustainability goals.”
CEO and Founder of WakeCap, Dr. Hassan Albalawi, added that “This partnership validates our vision of transforming construction through real-time intelligence. We’ve proven our technology can fundamentally change how giga-projects are delivered, reducing risk and driving efficiency. Now, by combining our field-proven platform with Nemetschek’s global reach and software ecosystem, we’re not just expanding our market, we’re defining the future of construction technology. Our joint solutions will become the global benchmark for intelligent project delivery, starting here in the GCC, where the world’s most ambitious projects are already relying on WakeCap.”
The agreement also solidifies the long-term investor decision of the Nemetschek Group to drive digital innovation in the construction and infrastructure markets of the globe.
Having one of the largest portfolios of successful brands and platforms that cover the entire AEC/O lifecycle, Nemetschek has continued to provide open, interoperable, and sustainable solutions to enable the architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers of the world to build better.
The GCC market related to construction, which is worth more than $120 billion per annum, and the countries’ transformation programs in the trillion-dollar range are undergoing, would form the best testing ground for these advanced technologies.
