In a firm declaration on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that terror, trade, and talks cannot coexist. He stressed that “blood and water cannot flow together,” reinforcing India’s longstanding position that meaningful dialogue with Pakistan can only begin after the complete eradication of terrorism from its soil.
Modi asserted that trust—not—terror must form the foundation of trade, cooperation, and diplomacy. He also confirmed that India has taken an uncompromising stance by placing the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance in response to Pakistan’s continued provocations.

Referring to India’s recent military action, the Prime Minister said that the targeting of nine terror camps in Pakistan signaled a “new strategic paradigm,” warning that future retaliations would be fiercer, larger, and more decisive.
He made it clear that “Operation Sindoor” remains ongoing and emphasized that India is unwilling to engage in diplomacy with Pakistan at this point, as there is “nothing to discuss” until terrorism ends.
Highlighting the success of recent precision airstrikes, Modi said India systematically dismantled long-standing terrorist strongholds, used to launch attacks in India, the UK, and other nations. These efforts resulted in the elimination of key militants involved in long-term anti-India plots.
Modi condemned Pakistan’s “desperate” retaliation through indiscriminate strikes on civilians, including schools, places of worship, and residential areas. Despite this, India’s superior defence strategy rendered Pakistani airbases non-operational using drones and precision missile strikes.
The Prime Minister stated that these actions send a clear message to the world: terrorism will not be tolerated, and national security is non-negotiable. He vowed that India would continue to respond boldly and decisively to any further acts of aggression.
Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which killed innocent civilians, Modi described it as an attempt to fracture national unity, one that has only strengthened India’s resolve.
