The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in partnership with the National Youth Orchestra – Dubai (NYO Dubai), has announced the launch of the Emirati Music Education Programme, a new initiative aimed at discovering and nurturing young Emirati musicians.
The programme, developed under the Dubai Cultural Grant, seeks to enrich the UAE’s cultural and creative landscape with new talent, while reinforcing Dubai’s role as a global hub for the creative economy.
Participants will undergo structured training covering music history, theory, and classical performance practices, with a focus on string and wind instruments, choral performance, and ensemble work. The programme will also feature workshops led by NYO Dubai’s faculty and guest mentors.
In addition to technical training, the initiative is designed to instill cultural appreciation, creative discipline, and international-level performance standards in the next generation of Emirati musicians.
Dubai Culture has invited emerging Emirati talents to register via www.nyo.ae, where applicants will undergo an admissions test to assess their musical proficiency before joining the programme.
The collaboration reflects Dubai Culture’s wider strategy to strengthen the sustainability of the cultural sector and encourage the active participation of Emirati youth in advancing the emirate’s creative economy.
