Businessman and former Rajasthan Royals stakeholder Raj Kundra has made explosive allegations of financial misconduct involving a key promoter of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. Taking to LinkedIn, Kundra claimed to possess documentary evidence pointing to serious irregularities, including money laundering through offshore accounts and undisclosed financial transactions.

In his post, Kundra wrote,
“I will soon be releasing documented evidence exposing serious financial misconduct, money laundering through offshore structures, and hidden transactions involving a key promoter of the Rajasthan Royals.”

He further alleged a systematic “suppression of co-promoter rights” and “deceit and manipulation” in shareholder dealings, suggesting a broader pattern of malpractice within the franchise’s ownership structure.

Kundra, who is married to actress Shilpa Shetty, also shared a cryptic image that read “Karma Bol”, tagging the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) — a move that hints at the gravity of his claims.

In a follow-up post, he announced a press conference scheduled for Monday, June 2, where he plans to release the purported evidence. His PR team will disclose the exact venue on the morning of the conference.

These revelations have generated significant buzz among cricket fans and industry insiders, particularly given Kundra’s controversial past with the franchise.

For context, Kundra and Shetty had acquired an 11.7% stake in Rajasthan Royals in 2009, reportedly investing $15.4 million. However, his association with cricket ended in 2015 after the Supreme Court found him guilty of involvement in the 2013 IPL betting scandal, resulting in a lifetime ban from all cricket-related activities.

With Kundra now threatening to expose the inner workings of the franchise, all eyes will be on his press conference next week.
