Guinness World Records has officially recognized the Riyadh Metro as the longest driverless metro network in the world, with a total of 176 kilometers. Saudi Arabia has taken a significant leap forward in contemporary transportation.

Riyadh Metro is a significant element of the public transportation policy in the capital of Saudi Arabia. It has six integrated lines having 85 stations and state-of-the-art technologies.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the system works on the basis of a driverless model operated by automated control rooms that guarantee precision, safety, and quality standards.

The annual reference book reported that Riyadh Metro was “designed to enhance urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and promote sustainability through eco-friendly transportation solutions.”

However, the public transport system in Riyadh, including the metro and buses, supports the city’s traffic, economy, urban development, and social life.

The SPA reported that the success draws attention to the initiatives of the Royal Commission of Riyadh City, which aims at implementing innovative and sustainable urban transport ideas, reflecting the intent to provide modern infrastructure that will improve the quality of life and the implementation of the Saudi Vision 2030.
