This is to ensure the residents have a smoother journey. The RTA Dubai app, nol Pay app, and the official transport authority website have been recommended as alternative ways to top-up your nol card, allowing passengers to avoid queues at stations.
In August 2024, the RTA implemented a new policy requiring a minimum Nol card top-up of AED50 at metro ticket offices. This followed a previous increase in January 2024, when the minimum top-up amount was raised from AED 5 to AED20.
