Saudi Arabia has officially welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed ceasefire between Israel and Iran, urging all parties to commit fully to de-escalation and refrain from any use of force, according to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry.

“The Foreign Ministry expresses Saudi Arabia’s welcoming of the announcement made by President Donald Trump… regarding the agreement reached to establish a ceasefire between both parties involved in the regional escalation,” the statement read, adding that the Kingdom “values the efforts exerted to de-escalate tensions.”

Saudi Arabia further called on all sides to uphold the truce, warning that it hopes the agreement “will contribute to restoring security and stability in the region and averting the dangers of continued escalation.”

On Tuesday, President Trump declared a ceasefire between Israel and Iran and appealed to both nations: “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Prime Minister Netanyahu confirmed Israel’s acceptance, cautioning it would reply forcefully to any breaches. Saudi Arabia’s endorsement underscores its desire for calm in the region and support for diplomatic approaches over renewed conflict. (Reuters Inputs)
