Saudia has introduced 20 flights connecting Riyadh and Jeddah with the Red Sea Destination during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, increasing total operations on the routes to 44.

The expanded service is achieved in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority and Red Sea Global as part of the continuous efforts to promote premier tourism destinations across the Kingdom.

The initiative, according to a press release, seeks to project the destination as a luxury tourism destination in the world.

The Red Sea Destination is a proposed luxury tourism development on the west coast of Saudi Arabia by Red Sea Global of the Public Investment Fund as part of Vision 2030.

When completed in its full capacity in 2030, the regenerative tourism site will comprise 50 resorts consisting of 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties scattered across 22 islands and six inland areas fully powered by renewable energy.

The press release reported that passengers flying to and from the Red Sea will experience “Saudia’s integrated guest experience, including advanced AI-powered digital services for personalized travel planning, streamlined airport procedures, and an onboard experience reflecting Saudi hospitality alongside a wide range of entertainment for guests of all ages.”

The partnership is a long-term strategic engagement between Saudia and the Saudi Tourism Authority to fortify tourism programmes based on enhanced flight catering, high-capacity seating, and unique travelling experiences that embody the cultural nature of the Kingdom.

However, the statement said that these initiatives were in line with the national tourism aim of Saudi Arabia to receive 150 million tourists by 2030.

The growing fleet of Saudia has been fuelling its growth in its global network, which is currently servicing over 100 destinations in four continents, including all 26 airports in Saudi Arabia.

The airline plans to initiate additional international routes as part of its strategy to connect the world with the Kingdom. This growth will be facilitated by the delivery of 116 additional aircraft that will be added to the current fleet, comprising 149 planes.

The airline is an associate of both the International Air Transport Association and the Arab Air Carriers Organization and has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since 2012.
