On Sunday evening, December 15, a tragic incident took place near Khorfakkan, UAE, claiming the lives of 9 people and leaving 73 injured when a labor transport bus overturned. The passengers, of Asian and Arab nationalities, were on board when the bus lost control due to brake failure.
Specialized teams from Sharjah Police, along with civil defense and national ambulance teams, quickly responded to the scene at Wadi Wishi Square, near the Khorfakkan entrance. The rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment in no time.

Brigadier Dr. Ali Al Khy Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, confirmed that the cause of the accident was brake failure, which caused the driver to lose control.
The Sharjah Police have called on road users to follow traffic laws, ensure proper vehicle maintenance, and stay alert while driving, particularly in tunnels, curves, and intersections.
