Under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Council has formulated a new initiative to boost the operational efficiency of government agencies. The plan seeks to empower branch managers and staff with greater authority, enabling them to deliver services more effectively. The overarching goal is to elevate service quality, meet customer needs promptly, and increase public satisfaction.
The initiative emphasizes a comprehensive development programme for government employees, including training workshops for branch managers and staff across various agencies. It aims to ensure a complete range of services is available in each city, tailored to the unique needs of local communities. Additionally, the programme is designed to strengthen the government’s capacity for timely and efficient responses to citizen needs, maintain high-quality performance, and enhance resident satisfaction.
The Council also approved a new decision updating a 2011 resolution regarding the team responsible for managing emergencies, crises, and disasters in Sharjah. The updated framework establishes a team led by the Chief of Sharjah Police and includes senior members from key local and federal government agencies, specifically those holding positions equivalent to Director-General.
This revision aims to improve preparedness and response to emergencies through the implementation of unified procedures, plans, and drills across the emirate, ensuring coordinated and efficient action.
The Council reviewed a report on the seizure of illegal and unlicensed motorcycles, bicycles, and electric bikes in Sharjah. From the beginning of 2025 until August, a total of 19,102 vehicles were confiscated as part of efforts to enhance road safety and protect all road users.
Finally, the Council considered feedback from the Sharjah International Airport Authority regarding suggestions submitted by the Sharjah Consultative Council on the Authority’s policies. The Council emphasized the importance of implementing these recommendations to improve services, support the Authority’s growth, and better meet the needs of the community.
