The Sharjah Light Festival wrapped up its 15th edition, held under the theme “Lights That Tell Our Story,” after running from 3rd to 15th February. The event was organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
The festival witnessed strong public and media engagement, drawing visitors from across the UAE and beyond. Audiences were treated to a remarkable visual spectacle as light projections illuminated 13 locations throughout the emirate.
The 2026 edition stood out as a significant cultural and artistic occasion, attracting both local and international visitors and reinforcing Sharjah’s reputation as a hub of creativity, diversity, and artistic excellence.
Over the course of 13 days, the festival offered an inspiring platform for international artists to showcase cutting-edge light installations and interactive digital technologies. These displays celebrated the emirate’s cultural identity, heritage, architectural landmarks, and urban progress.
The closing ceremony took place at the House of Wisdom and was attended by senior officials, representatives of supporting public and private organisations, organising committees, staff, volunteers, and members of the media.
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, said, “The conclusion of the 15th edition of the Sharjah Light Festival reflects the success of our strategy to establish Sharjah as a global platform for arts and cultural innovation, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The festival drew large audiences from within and outside the UAE, offering a unique experience that combined architectural beauty, cultural identity and advanced interactive technologies.”
Al Midfa further emphasised that beyond celebrating artistic talent, the festival also plays a key role in boosting tourism and supporting the local economy. He added that the “Light Village” will remain open until 22nd February, continuing to provide a lively, family-friendly environment where national projects can connect with the community.
