H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah chaired a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council on Tuesday at the Ruler’s office. The session was attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council.
The meeting focused on a range of important matters, primarily aimed at evaluating the performance of government departments and agencies. The discussions also included a review of legal frameworks that strengthen the financial sector, reflecting the emirate’s commitment to boosting its economic growth and development in key areas.
One of the significant decisions made during the meeting addressed the fees associated with the release of impounded vehicles in Sharjah. This decision applies to all vehicles and their respective owners or drivers within the emirate. It is part of the council’s efforts to ensure that vehicles impounded for serious offenses—especially those involving reckless driving and negligence that could endanger public safety—are returned after the legal impoundment period has been completed.
Additionally, the council reviewed several initiatives focused on environmental preservation, including plans to reduce the use of single-use plastics. These measures are part of Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and improving its standing in health and environmental matters. The council stressed the importance of community involvement in promoting innovative environmental practices to help achieve these goals.
