The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced the appointment of Yousif Ahmed AlMutawa as Chief Real Estate Officer, expanding his leadership responsibilities from CEO of Sharjah Sustainable City to overseeing a broader real estate vision across the emirate.
AlMutawa will lead Shurooq’s strategic real estate portfolio across Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, with a focus on investor relations, sustainable urban planning, and culturally-rooted development. The move is part of Shurooq’s enhanced mandate to position Sharjah as a regional leader in values-driven and community-focused real estate development.
The new appointment reinforces Shurooq’s commitment to crafting real estate offerings that reflect Sharjah’s identity as a cultural capital and a destination of livability, affordability, and heritage preservation.
AlMutawa will guide major initiatives, including Ajwan Khorfakkan, a landmark project on the UAE’s East Coast designed around human-centric planning, lifestyle integration, and sustainability.
Starting his journey with Shurooq in 2006, AlMutawa has played key roles across project management, construction, operations, and investment strategy. A graduate in e-commerce from the Higher Colleges of Technology – Sharjah, he is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and an active member of the Project Management Institute and the Real Estate Sector Business Group within the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
“Yousif AlMutawa’s deep-rooted understanding of Sharjah’s development philosophy and his track record of delivering complex, future-facing projects make him ideally positioned to lead the emirate’s evolving real estate strategy,” said a senior Shurooq official.
His appointment comes amid growing momentum in Sharjah’s real estate sector, buoyed by its stable regulatory ecosystem, rising investor confidence, and demand for culturally authentic, well-planned communities.
