Smile Train, the world’s leading cleft-focused organisation, is set to host a local “Smile Wall” initiative in partnership with Dubai Humanitarian to celebrate World Smile Day.

This campaign forms part of Smile Train’s global effort to promote positivity, connection, and the power of a smile while supporting children born with cleft lips and palates.

The Smile Wall will be on display at Dubai Mall from 2nd to 4th October, at Times Square Centre from 3rd–4th October, and at selected university campuses. Visitors can post messages, drawings, or photos reflecting what makes them smile, turning everyday spaces into vibrant symbols of hope and joy.

“World Smile Day reminds us that a simple smile can hold tremendous meaning,” said Afaf Meky, Executive Manager of Smile Train in Dubai. “Through the Smile Wall, we thank the public and our partners for their support. Together, we invite everyone to share moments of happiness, celebrate connection, and raise awareness for children with cleft conditions, helping to ensure a brighter, healthier future for them.”

Every three minutes, a baby is born with a cleft, a condition that can impact eating, speaking, hearing, and breathing. By engaging with the Smile Wall campaign, the community contributes to raising awareness and showing solidarity with affected children and families worldwide.

“By raising awareness about children born with cleft lips and palates, we hope to inspire empathy, understanding, and shared joy. From the heart of Dubai, this collaboration reminds us that even simple acts, like sharing a smile, can create moments of happiness and a sense of unity that touches lives everywhere,” Giuseppe Saba, CEO and Board Member of Dubai Humanitarian, said.
