SpaceX has successfully carried out the tenth test flight of its Starship rocket, marking another milestone in the company’s push to develop the world’s most powerful spacecraft.
The rocket launched from SpaceX’s private spaceport in Texas after two previous postponements — one to address a fault in the ground systems and another due to unfavorable weather.
After liftoff, the Starship completed a brief journey into space before landing in the Indian Ocean roughly an hour later.
The test is part of SpaceX’s ongoing efforts to validate Starship’s performance ahead of future missions, including plans for lunar landings and eventual crewed flights to Mars.
The Starship programme is central to SpaceX’s vision of building a fully reusable rocket system capable of carrying large payloads and passengers beyond Earth orbit.
