‘Squid Game’ Stars Lee Jung-Jae And Lee Byung-Hun Nervous Ahead of Season 3 Release

As the global phenomenon Squid Game gears up for the release of its final season, lead actors Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun have shared their anticipation and nervousness about how fans will receive the concluding chapter of the record-breaking Netflix series.

In a recent interview, Lee Jung-jae, who plays the role of Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), admitted he’s anxious ahead of the upcoming season. “We are going to be releasing quite soon; I am very nervous. I know that a lot of you out there are curious about what’s going to happen in season three, but all of us are more curious about how much you’re going to enjoy it. So I can’t wait, I’m very nervous,” he said.

Lee Byung-hun, who portrays the enigmatic Front Man, echoed similar sentiments while expressing admiration for the show’s creator. “It was just perfectly written. It was such an intriguing and gripping read, and I was once again in awe of director Hwang [Dong-hyuk]’s abilities,” he noted.

Speaking about the series’ ending, Lee Byung-hun added, “I’m happy with how it ended, but I know that the fans out there, they each have what they want to see happen, so I am curious about how they’re going to respond to it. And I’m very nervous to find out.”

Squid Game took the world by storm upon its debut in 2021, becoming Netflix’s most-watched series of all time and earning critical acclaim for its gripping storyline, social commentary, and powerful performances. With Season 3 set to premiere on June 27, 2025, expectations are at an all-time high as fans prepare for a dramatic and emotional conclusion to the groundbreaking series.
