After four thrilling weeks of cricket, the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has reached its decisive stage. Four of the game’s biggest nations — defending champions India, South Africa, England and New Zealand — are set to battle it out for a place in the final.
With high stakes, intense rivalries and global bragging rights on the line, fans are in for two blockbuster semi-finals.
How the Semi-Finalists Reached the Last Four
England were the first team to book their place in the semi-finals. They won both of their initial Super 8 matches and completed a flawless run in that stage by defeating New Zealand.
Despite that loss, New Zealand progressed from Group 2 after narrowly edging out Pakistan on net run-rate, showing resilience under pressure.
From Group 1, South Africa have arguably been the standout team of the tournament. They remain unbeaten, carrying the only 100% record into the semi-finals.
Defending champions India sealed their spot with a composed five-wicket victory in their final Super 8 match, keeping alive hopes of back-to-back titles on home soil.
One of the biggest surprises of the tournament was Australia’s early exit after defeats to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in the group stages.
