talabat, the leading on-demand delivery platform in the MENA region, has announced its support for the Edge of Life campaign, which aims to help rescue five million children from hunger.
Launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the campaign seeks to raise at least AED1 billion to support global efforts to combat childhood hunger.
Through the talabat app, users can contribute AED10, AED20, AED50, AED100, or AED500 to support the Edge of Life campaign. The initiative focuses on assisting children at risk of hunger in the world’s most vulnerable communities, particularly in regions affected by natural disasters and conflicts. According to statistics, five children under the age of five die every minute worldwide due to malnutrition and hunger.
Donations can be made by downloading the talabat app via the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery. Within the app, users can access the “Give Back” section and select the Edge of Life campaign.
By encouraging contributions from individuals across the community, the campaign promotes values of compassion, solidarity, and support for vulnerable populations, while highlighting the UAE’s prominent humanitarian role.
Operating under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the campaign is organised in partnership with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger.
Simonida Subotic, Vice President and Managing Director at talabat UAE, said, “At talabat, we are proud to support the ‘Edge Of Life’ campaign. By enabling donations through the talabat app, we are leveraging our platform to make it easier for our community to contribute to this important cause. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating meaningful impact and supporting efforts that deliver a lasting social impact.”
The campaign continues to accept donations from individuals and organisations through seven main channels, including its official website (www.edgeoflife.ae) and a dedicated call centre accessible via the toll-free number 800 4999.
Donations can also be made through bank transfers in UAE dirhams to the campaign’s account at Emirates Islamic Bank (IBAN: AE940340003708472909222).
