According to Bloomberg, Washington has recently taken a significant step with a bilateral artificial intelligence pact, which now allows the American venture NVIDIA to export chips to the UAE.

Bloomberg reports that the Bureau of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce granted Nvidia export licenses after the May agreement on artificial intelligence development between Washington and Abu Dhabi ended.

They are the initial permits to sell advanced microchips to the Persian Gulf country since President Donald Trump took office as president.

This approval was made possible when the Emirates announced plans to invest in the US, as part of the major scale initiative, according to which the country is expected to invest as much as $1.4 trillion within a period of ten years.

The agreement includes the creation of a powerful data center in Abu Dhabi, where OpenAI is one of the major collaborators.

The agreement has raised concern in Washington, even though it was a strategic optimism because of the active economic relationship with China by the UAE. Eventually, as the AI Chief of White House, David Sacks noted that, “President Trump’s policy is pushing China away from the Middle East, while the previous administration only brought these countries closer to Beijing.”
