On the occasion of the International Day of Epidemic Preparedness, observed annually on 27 December following its designation by the United Nations General Assembly, the Frontline Heroes Office affirmed that the UAE continues to reinforce an integrated national framework founded on preparedness, proactive action, and the empowerment of frontline heroes as the primary safeguard for public health.

The office noted that the UAE’s effectiveness in addressing health challenges stems from a strategic approach focused on investing in human resources, strengthening capabilities, and advancing response systems, thereby ensuring the highest levels of performance during health crises and epidemics.

On this occasion, the Frontline Heroes Office stated, “We are proud of our heroes who have formed, and continue to form, the first line of defence for society, and of a national system that has made continuous training and comprehensive support a firmly established approach to ensure their readiness under all circumstances.”

The office also highlighted that the UAE’s commitment extends beyond national efforts to include ongoing support for regional and international initiatives aimed at preventing infectious diseases and epidemics, reducing their impacts, and responding effectively, in alignment with the 2030 Agenda and the advancement of global health cooperation.

Concluding its statement, the Frontline Heroes Office reaffirmed that investing in people will remain central to the UAE’s path toward a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future, guided by wise leadership that views preparedness and prevention as the strongest defences against epidemics.
