UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi has issued a warning against photographing, publishing, or sharing images and videos that document incident sites or damage caused by falling projectiles or shrapnel.

He emphasized that distributing such materials or spreading inaccurate information can cause public panic and create a misleading perception of the country’s situation.

Al Shamsi affirmed that the relevant state authorities are performing their duties efficiently to ensure community security. He noted that daily life continues as normal while appropriate measures are implemented to manage ongoing developments.

He explained that these incidents are being handled by authorities within established security and defence frameworks. Therefore, individuals must refrain from recording these sites, as sharing such content can interfere with the response and mitigation efforts of the concerned authorities.

In a statement, the Attorney-General pointed out that, despite previous warnings by competent authorities, some individuals have continued to film incident locations and post them on social media.

He stressed that publishing or circulating such footage or misleading information constitutes a legal violation if it causes public panic, spreads false news, or disrupts public order. He urged citizens and residents to stop taking or sharing these images, warning that violators will face legal consequences under current laws.

Al Shamsi also cautioned against sharing fabricated videos or digitally manipulated scenes, including those generated via artificial intelligence, that falsely depict missile strikes, attacks on facilities, or events that did not occur.

He affirmed that creating or publishing such content to mislead the public is a criminal offense, and the Public Prosecution will pursue legal action against offenders without leniency.

The Attorney-General concluded by urging the public to comply with the law and rely solely on official sources for information, in order to help safeguard national security and stability.
