The UAE has announced a public sector holiday on Sunday, September 15, in observance of Prophet Mohammed’s birthday. The Federal Authority for Human Resources made the announcement on social media, stating that the holiday applies to ministries and federal entities as part of the federal government’s calendar for the year 1446 AH.

In line with tradition, the occasion will be marked with quiet observance, with celebrations kept to a minimum. Since 2019, the UAE has aligned public and private sector holidays, and an announcement for the private sector is expected soon from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
The next public holiday in the UAE will be National Day, which will be celebrated on Monday, December 2, and Tuesday, December 3, marking the final public holidays of the year.
