The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has unveiled a series of integrated digital projects and cutting-edge technology initiatives during its participation at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, as part of the UAE Government Pavilion. These initiatives align with the national vision for comprehensive digital transformation and aim to enhance integration across key sectors, including energy, infrastructure, transport, housing, and public services.
Among the major announcements was the launch of the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance (GEEA) platform—an international initiative designed to strengthen collaboration between governments, institutions, and innovative enterprises in energy efficiency and sustainability. The platform utilizes intelligent analytics to identify high-impact projects that help reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency, further positioning the UAE as a global hub for advancing the low-carbon economy.
The Ministry also introduced the National Green Certificates Programme (NGCP) platform, a national framework for assessing and certifying sustainable buildings. Leveraging artificial intelligence to evaluate energy and water efficiency, as well as the quality of urban design, the platform promotes the adoption of green technologies and establishes performance benchmarks that enhance the UAE’s leadership in sustainable development and its goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
In a move to elevate customer experience, the Ministry announced the Hybrid Customer Happiness Center model—a service delivery system that integrates in-person interactions with virtual platforms using video communication technologies. This innovative model reduces transportation-related emissions, enhances inclusivity and flexibility, and adheres to the five- and seven-star Customer Happiness Centre standards, ensuring superior and sustainable service quality.
Additionally, the Ministry showcased the Integrated Digital Government Services Centre in Fujairah, a pioneering hub that delivers government services in a fully digital environment powered by artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and the metaverse. The center provides more than 150 digital services to citizens and residents, serving over 20,000 users annually, and exemplifies the shift toward a paperless, queue-free government ecosystem.
Sharif Al Olama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, stated that these new projects mark a major milestone in the Ministry’s digital transformation journey. He emphasized that they embody the UAE’s forward-looking vision of shaping the future through innovation and advanced technologies—driving progress, competitiveness, and leadership across energy, infrastructure, and smart government services.
He said, “The Ministry continues to develop innovative solutions that align with the global shift toward a digital economy and support the UAE’s directions and sustainable development goals. We are working within an integrated approach that harnesses technology and innovation in service of sustainable development by creating future-ready digital platforms that connect data, policies, and services seamlessly.”
He added, “These projects are part of a broader institutional transformation framework adopted by the Ministry, positioning it as a leading model in digital government applications and a source of practical solutions that promote the sustainability of energy and infrastructure and enhance resource efficiency—reinforcing the UAE’s position as a global destination for government innovation.”
He also noted that the Ministry’s participation in GITEX Global 2025 is part of its efforts to solidify its leadership in harnessing artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and big data analytics to develop government work systems and deliver more efficient and sustainable services, supporting the nation’s journey toward a comprehensive knowledge-based economy.
