PMI And UAE Ministry of Interior Sign Strategic Partnership To Advance Project Management Excellence

The UAE Ministry of Interior has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) to strengthen cooperation in project management, scientific research, education, and publishing. The agreement marks a regional first, making the Ministry the first security entity in the MENA region to formalize such a partnership with PMI.

The MoU was signed by H.E. Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Hanny Alshazly, PMI’s Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

Partnership Scope

The collaboration aims to:

  • Introduce global best practices and advanced project management methodologies within the Ministry.
  • Develop specialized training programs and professional certifications.
  • Support scientific research, academic publishing, and the creation of practical reference guides.
  • Enhance institutional efficiency and performance in line with the UAE’s global leadership ambitions.

Leaders’ Perspectives

H.E. Major General Al Khaili described the agreement as “a qualitative addition to the Ministry’s development journey,” highlighting that knowledge investment and adherence to global standards are central to executing projects effectively.

PMI’s Hanny Alshazly emphasized that the partnership sets a benchmark for integrating project management excellence with institutional and security work, paving the way for sustainable outcomes and enhanced operational capability.
