Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the next World Governments Summit (WGS) is set to be held from February 3 to 5, 2026.
The summit reflects the UAE’s strong dedication to building global partnerships, sharing valuable expertise, and pioneering innovative business models that will contribute to a better future for humanity.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the WGS, stated that the summit, in line with the directives of the two leaders, continues to solidify its importance as a key platform for shaping government work and promoting international cooperation.
Al Gergawi emphasized that the 12th edition of the summit strengthened government partnerships and facilitated the exchange of best practices, helping to shape effective government strategies, policies, and visions. These efforts have advanced government work globally, contributed to sustainable development, and improved societal prosperity.
He noted that the summit’s primary goal is to inspire human intellect and creativity by anticipating emerging challenges and creating effective solutions. The summit strives to transform these challenges into opportunities, accelerating global progress across all sectors and continuously evolving government systems to meet future needs.
The 12th edition of the summit was especially notable for its diversity, with participation from governments worldwide and a significant contribution from the private sector, which represented industries crucial to shaping future global trends.
Al Gergawi also pointed out that the summit attracted over 6,000 participants, including over 30 heads of state and government, more than 80 international and regional organizations, and 140 government delegations.
The WGS 2025, which began on Tuesday in Dubai with the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments’, featured 21 global forums on major future trends, 200 interactive sessions with over 300 prominent speakers—including presidents, ministers, and thought leaders—along with over 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables attended by over 400 ministers.
