The President of the UAE, and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praised His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, for his significant efforts in promoting human values inspired by Islam. His remarks came as Sheikh Mohammed was named the recipient of the inaugural Emirates International Holy Quran Award – Personality of the Year for 2025, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Holy Quran and its reciters both locally and internationally.
During a meeting at Sheikh Zayed’s farm in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed presented Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid with a special edition of the Mushaf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with a framed photograph of the two leaders and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The award also included a signed letter expressing his appreciation for Sheikh Mohammed’s dedication to the Holy Quran, his support of its reciters, and his promotion of Arabic language and culture.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed commended Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for his leadership in the UAE’s progress and for his humanitarian and cultural initiatives that inspire national development and prosperity.
In his X post, His Highness wrote, “The efforts of my brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid are a source of inspiration in caring for the Book of God Almighty and honoring its people, and a beacon that illuminates the legacy of our father Sheikh Zayed in serving Islam and embodying its values, morals and tolerant principles.” -WAM
