The first round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Slovak Republic took place in Bratislava on 4 December 2025, co-chaired by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, and Marek Eštok, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Following the recent visit of Prime Minister Robert Fico to Abu Dhabi, the consultations reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral partnership. Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, with particular emphasis on boosting trade, unlocking investment opportunities, and exploring civilian nuclear energy collaboration.
The parties also noted the significant growth in non-oil bilateral trade, which rose by one-third to exceed USD 1 billion in 2024, alongside increased bilateral foreign direct investment flows.
The discussions included a comprehensive exchange on regional and international developments, covering issues in the Middle East and Europe.
The consultations underscored the importance of ongoing dialogue to address regional challenges and support international stability. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to holding regular consultations to advance shared goals for the benefit of their citizens.
