UAE sprinter Maryam Karim has claimed a gold medal in the 400-meter final at the Arab Junior Athletics Championship, held in Saudi Arabia. Competing in the under-18 category, Karim delivered an outstanding performance, finishing with a time of 55.09 seconds.
Her path to victory was marked by a strong showing in the qualifying rounds, where she posted the fastest time at 57.71 seconds, setting the stage for her gold-medal win in the final.
This achievement is the UAE’s second podium finish at the championship, following Salem Al-Maqbali’s silver medal in the shot put event.
Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Murr, President of the Athletics Federation, praised Karim’s success as a reflection of the federation’s efforts to develop young talent and prepare them for international competition.
