The UAE Team Emirates-XRG cycling teams made an impressive start at the Australian National Time Trial Championships, which kicked off on Thursday in Perth.
Jay Vine delivered a dominant performance to claim the Championship, riding with power and precision across the Perth roads to secure the green and gold jersey for the upcoming season.
The title was contested over a 39.1km loop, featuring long open straights, fast coastal sections, and several technical turns that tested both raw power and aerodynamic skill. Vine completed the course in 46:52, averaging a remarkable 50.05 km/h, the only rider to surpass the 50 km/h mark.
In the women’s elite category, Brodie Chapman began her 2026 season strongly at the Australian Road National Championships in Perth, finishing a narrow second in the individual time trial. While she was unable to defend her national title from last year, Chapman showed excellent form and determination, missing victory by just 3.8 seconds over the 29.3 km course.
