Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey, who is in the headlines for winning the National Award, has now officially confirmed that he is starring in Dostana 2, the much-awaited Dharma Productions film. This will be his first movie with Karan Johar’s production house. In a recent media interaction, Vikrant said, “I am doing ‘Dostana 2’. I don’t know why I’m not talking about it. It’s my first Dharma film.” This marks a buzz as this leads to a replacement of Kartik Aaryan in the starrer, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, a jodi, fans were waiting to catch a glimpse of.
Known for his grounded and realistic roles, Vikrant revealed that Dostana 2 will show him in a completely new look. He will be seen wearing designer clothes, stylish sunglasses, and shooting in beautiful European locations. But the internet has mixed reactions, as many on X mentioned that the curiosity sparked to see Kartik in this avatar, as he has already portrayed similar roles before.
A New Leading Lady?
While Vikrant confirmed that Lakshya, known from The Ba**ds of Bollywood, is still part of the project, he stayed quiet about who the female lead will be. He reportedly said, “Let the girl be a surprise. It’s better if Karan sir makes that announcement,” which has created a lot of curiosity. There are reports that Sreeleela has replaced Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, but there is no official confirmation yet. Many also shared that they want to see him sharing space with Rashmika Mandanna as well.

Dostana 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana, which starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
