Dubai‑based travel influencer and photographer Anunay Sood, 32, died in Las Vegas on November 4, and US authorities have now confirmed the cause of his death as an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and alcohol.
Sood, known for his cinematic travel content and motivational storytelling with 1.4 million Instagram followers, was in Las Vegas attending an automotive event when those with him found him unresponsive in his hotel room. Emergency responders attempted life‑saving measures, including multiple doses of Narcan, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
According to official reports, he and companions had sought to obtain a substance later suspected to be drugs, and this accidental ingestion likely led to fatal toxicity — a sobering reflection of growing concerns over fentanyl‑related deaths.
Anunay’s family confirmed his passing on his official social channels, asking for privacy and respect during their grief, while fans, friends, and fellow creators worldwide have expressed deep shock and condolences. His girlfriend, Shivani Parihar, shared an emotional tribute, describing him as her “safe place” and “everything.”
Sood’s legacy includes travel storytelling from around 46 countries, collaborations with global tourism boards, and recognition on Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list for three consecutive years, underscoring the impact he had on the digital travel community.
