Wio Bank has introduced the first banking account in the UAE that targets content creators and digital entrepreneurs in the country by providing specific features to manage income, pay, and grow a business.
It was launched at the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, the largest conference in the world focused on the content creation economy.
Chief Marketing Officer of Wio Bank, Amina Taher, confirmed that the account, which is being introduced in partnership with Visa, can be opened in 72 hours. She observed that it is entirely digital and multi-currency, which has no minimum balance requirement.
She reported that the account has some smart features that allow users to handle bills and business processes without having to employ an accountant, and added that the concept was a result of her interactions with the creators at the last version of the summit.
Taher mentioned that the experience with the content creators provided her with a clearer understanding of their needs, noting that most of them struggle to open business bank accounts and would use personal ones instead.
She added that “The account enables content creators to work efficiently on a global level and gives them true financial independence.”
Thus, in the event, over 15,000 content creators and influencers participated, and over 500 speakers with a total following of over 3.5 billion across the globe.
