The much-anticipated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025 will see Australia face South Africa at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, beginning Wednesday, June 11. Dubbed the ‘Ultimate Test’, this clash features two red-ball powerhouses battling for cricket’s most prestigious Test title — the WTC mace.

Australia Eye Title Defense; South Africa Chase First ICC Trophy in Two Decades

Led by Pat Cummins, defending champions Australia are looking to retain their WTC crown, having defeated India in the 2023 final at The Oval. Their journey included 13 wins from 19 matches, finishing second in the WTC standings with a 67.54% points percentage.

Temba Bavuma’s South Africa, however, is on a redemption arc. After a rocky start, with just one win in their first five Tests, the Proteas bounced back to remain unbeaten in their next seven, topping the WTC standings with a 69.44% points percentage. A win here would mark South Africa’s first ICC title in over 20 years and their maiden WTC triumph.
