The Youth Muay Thai World Championship 2025 opened in Abu Dhabi on Friday evening, bringing together over 1,200 young athletes from 100 countries. Hosted at Space 42 Arena on Al Raha Beach, the week-long tournament runs from September 12 to 19, with daily preliminary bouts scheduled from 12 PM to 8 PM starting Saturday.
The opening ceremony featured a parade of participating teams, an oath-taking ceremony for referees and coaches, and cultural performances that highlighted the UAE’s rich traditions. The event was officially inaugurated by Tareq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Board Member of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation.
The championship marks another milestone for Abu Dhabi as a growing hub for international martial arts and combat sports, strengthening the UAE’s position on the global sporting calendar.
