The UAE national team ended its Minifootball World Cup campaign on a high note, securing three points in the group stage with a resounding 4-1 victory over Argentina in their final Group G fixture.

The impressive win came after earlier matches saw the UAE face tough competition. They suffered a 2-9 defeat against the Czech Republic and a 0-2 loss to Georgia, both of whom have now qualified for the Round of 16.

The Minifootball World Cup 2025, held in Baku from May 21 to June 1, features 32 national teams competing under the World Minifootball Federation (WMF). The event has brought together elite talent from across the globe to celebrate the fast-paced, small-sided version of football.

In other tournament highlights, Thailand continued to dominate Group E, defeating Costa Rica 4-1 to finish at the group’s top with 7 points. Meanwhile, Group F concluded that Bosnia, Herzegovina, and Poland both progressed to the knockout stage, having secured 5 points each. Bosnia edged ahead on goal difference following a 1-1 draw between the two teams in their final group match.

Although the UAE exited the competition at the group stage, their spirited performance against Argentina showcased their growing capabilities on the international mini football stage, offering promising signs for future tournaments.
