The UAE Balloon Team is proudly representing the nation at the third edition of the International Ballooning Festival “Air Brotherhood”, currently underway in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, and running until July 1.
The festival features strong international participation, welcoming teams from Bulgaria, Slovakia, Belarus, Armenia, and several Russian entries.
Captain Pilot Abdulaziz Nasser Al Mansoori, head of the UAE Balloon Team, told Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the team’s participation transcends sporting achievement.
“Our presence here carries a cultural mission—one that introduces Emirati heritage to global audiences and highlights the deep-rooted friendship between the UAE and Russia,” Al Mansoori said.
During the festival, the UAE team staged aerial shows free of charge, drawing the attention of local officials, the media, and enthusiastic spectators. The nightly performances, in particular, drew large crowds and widespread public engagement.
Al Mansoori expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the Russian leadership, commending the strong support and public interest in the UAE team’s involvement.
This event marks a key stop in the team’s second international tour, which began in Bristol, United Kingdom, and aims to share authentic Arab and Islamic culture with diverse global communities through the art of hot air ballooning.
