UAE Team Emirates-XRG delivered a powerful performance to secure victory in Stage 5 of the Vuelta a España, winning the Team Time Trial in Figueres with a commanding display. The Emirati outfit completed the 24.1km course in an impressive time of 25 minutes and 26 seconds, averaging just under 57kph, and finishing eight seconds ahead of runners-up Visma-Lease a Bike.
This win marks the 74th triumph for UAE Team Emirates in the 2025 season and significantly shakes up the general classification. With the result, key riders Juan Ayuso, João Almeida, and Marc Soler have surged up the standings to second, third, and fourth place, respectively, putting the team within striking distance of the overall race lead. They now trail Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard by just eight seconds.
The commanding performance cements UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s status as a dominant force in this year’s Grand Tour, with strong momentum heading into the next stages.
