NYU Abu Dhabi has unveiled its new Master’s in Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (MIDSAI), further expanding its graduate program offerings and strengthening its role in advancing the UAE’s knowledge economy.
Ranked #17 globally in Computer Science and AI by QS, NYU’s MIDSAI is a two-year, research-focused program designed to develop advanced expertise in data science and AI. The interdisciplinary curriculum allows students to specialise in areas such as healthcare informatics, Arabic natural language processing, ethics and responsible AI, computational social science, human-machine interaction, and urban mobility.
Leveraging NYU’s global network, students will engage with cutting-edge ideas internationally while contributing to impactful real-world projects locally and globally. Applications for the first MIDSAI cohort, starting Fall 2026, are now open.
In parallel, NYUAD welcomed the inaugural cohort of its PhD in Astrophysics and Space Systems (PASS) program—the first in the UAE and wider region—including six students, half of whom are Emirati. The program underscores NYUAD’s commitment to developing local expertise in priority sectors, notably the space industry.
Fabio Piano, NYUAD’s interim Vice Chancellor, said, “Graduate education is at the heart of NYU Abu Dhabi’s next chapter. With the launch of the MIDSAI program, the continued success of PASS, and the expansion of Stern at NYU Abu Dhabi through the one-year MBA and the recently launched Executive MBA, we are proud to be shaping programs that not only meet the demands of the global economy but also align closely with the UAE’s vision for innovation and talent development.
“NYU Abu Dhabi was created with the vision of building a more collaborative world, and our graduate programmes carry that mission forward. As our graduate offerings expand, so too does our impact through cutting-edge research, a global network, and a community of students and alumni who are making a difference both locally and internationally.”
