Chelsea delivered a commanding 5–1 victory over Ajax Amsterdam at Stamford Bridge, showcasing the club’s emerging young talents in a rain-soaked Champions League encounter.
The match was effectively decided early on when Ajax captain Kenneth Taylor received a red card in the 17th minute for a reckless tackle. Nineteen-year-old Marc Guiu capitalized on the man advantage, scoring Chelsea’s opening goal just a minute later. Midfielder Moisés Caicedo doubled the lead with a deflected long-range effort in the 27th minute.
Ajax responded with a penalty goal from Wout Weghorst in the 33rd minute, but Chelsea quickly restored their three-goal advantage. Enzo Fernández and 18-year-old Estêvão each converted penalties in added time of the first half, bringing the score to 4–1 at the break.
The second half saw Chelsea maintain their dominance. Teenager Tyrique George added a fifth goal just after the interval, completing a memorable night for the Blues. The match also marked the debut of 17-year-old Reggie Walsh, who became Chelsea’s youngest-ever Champions League player.
This victory propels Chelsea to the top of their group, while Ajax remains at the bottom, having lost all three of their group-stage matches.
