Confusion As Etihad Airways Shows Flight Resumption Just Hour After Announcing Suspension Till Tuesday

Etihad Airways resumed flights from Abu Dhabi, with Flightradar24 showing takeoffs departing for London Heathrow. This comes just an hour after the airline wrote on X that flights are suspended until Tuesday, March 3rd afternoon.

The Abu Dhabi-based carrier resumed some departures from Abu Dhabi, according to live data from Flightradar24. The first flight to leave after the disruption was EY67 to London Heathrow Airport.

Flight EY67 took off from Zayed International Airport at 2.39 pm local time, which is 11.39 am CET. Within minutes, it became the most tracked flight on Flightradar24’s platform, reflecting heightened public and market attention.

Suspension Announced on Social Media

Just an hour earlier, the airline had posted on X that all flights to and from Abu Dhabi were suspended.

At 1.44 pm local time, the carrier wrote that flights were suspended until 2 pm local time on Tuesday, March 3.

However, live tracking data later showed aircraft departing, including the London Heathrow service.

Etihad has not yet issued further clarification on the change in operational status.
