India and the UAE signed a series of agreements spanning defence, energy, and strategic cooperation during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official visit to the Emirates, reinforcing the rapidly expanding partnership between the two countries.
The agreements were finalised following high-level talks between Prime Minister Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
Among the key agreements signed was a pact aimed at strengthening defence cooperation, reflecting growing security collaboration between the two nations amid shifting geopolitical dynamics in the region. The agreement is expected to enhance coordination across defence manufacturing, technology exchange, and strategic security initiatives.
India and the UAE also signed energy-related agreements focused on petroleum reserves and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply, underscoring the importance of energy security in bilateral relations. The deals are expected to support India’s long-term energy needs while deepening the UAE’s role as a critical energy partner for the South Asian economy.
The latest agreements come as both countries continue to expand cooperation across trade, infrastructure, renewable energy, logistics, technology, and investment. Bilateral ties between India and the UAE have strengthened significantly in recent years, particularly following the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Officials from both sides said the pacts reflect a shared commitment to advancing economic integration and strategic collaboration across multiple sectors.
The UAE remains one of India’s largest trading partners and a major destination for Indian businesses and expatriates, while India continues to be among the Emirates’ most important global economic partners.
