Modon Holding and Montage Hotels & Resorts have unveiled plans for Montage Ras El Hekma, a major ultra-luxury hospitality and residential development on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
The project marks the first Montage resort in Egypt and will introduce the first branded residences available for purchase in Ras El Hekma, reinforcing the destination’s emergence as a global tourism, lifestyle, and investment hub.
Montage Ras El Hekma will feature 200 guestrooms and suites, along with 96 branded luxury villas under the Montage Residences Ras El Hekma brand.
The development will include beachfront swimmable lagoons, six dining destinations, Spa Montage with 13 treatment rooms, retail experiences, event spaces, family-oriented attractions, and a dedicated Owners’ Clubhouse.
Positioned within Wadi Yemm, the first active precinct of the wider Ras El Hekma masterplan, the residences are designed around indoor-outdoor living concepts, offering direct Mediterranean-facing views and access to the golf course landscape.
Bill O’Regan, Group CEO of Modon Holding, said the partnership aligns with the company’s long-term vision for creating a world-class Mediterranean destination.
“Montage Hotels & Resorts are renowned for serving affluent travelers and homeowners, delivering an elevated guest experience and a commitment to refined living while remaining authentic to their surroundings,” O’Regan said.
“This ethos aligns closely with Modon’s vision for Ras El Hekma, where we are creating a distinctive Mediterranean destination defined by quality, experience, and long-term value.”
The branded villas will range from three to six bedrooms and are designed to maximize privacy, natural light, and connections to the surrounding environment.
Alan J. Fuerstman, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Montage International, described the expansion into Egypt as a major milestone for the luxury hospitality brand.
“Bringing the Montage brand to Egypt with Modon is a truly exciting milestone in our global journey,” Fuerstman said.
“Ras El Hekma is a remarkable destination, where rich heritage and thoughtful design come together in a way that is redefining luxury along the Mediterranean coast.”
The project forms part of the broader $35 billion Ras El Hekma masterplan, a 170.8 million-square-meter coastal development expected to attract around $110 billion in investment by 2045.
The mega-development is designed to transform Egypt’s Northern Coast into a next-generation city featuring hospitality, residential, commercial, cultural, and financial districts integrated with transport infrastructure, including a new international airport, high-speed rail links, marinas, and a cruise terminal.
Developers estimate the project could contribute approximately $25 billion annually to Egypt’s GDP upon completion while generating nearly 750,000 jobs.
Ras El Hekma spans 44 kilometers of Mediterranean coastline and is positioned within a four-hour flight radius of nearly half the world’s population, strengthening its ambitions to become one of the region’s leading global tourism and investment destinations.
