Sharjah Judiciary Council Launches First Women Judges Forum

The Sharjah Judiciary Council hosted the inaugural Sharjah Women Judges Forum to mark the International Day of Women Judges on 10 March, celebrating women’s contributions to justice and rights protection.

The event brought together prominent women judges from across the UAE, including Judge Dr. Amira Karam, Judge Hamda Ahli of Dubai Courts, and Judge Mariam Al Suwaidi of the Ajman Federal Primary Court, alongside other female legal leaders.

Discussions focused on advancing judicial work, sharing expertise, and highlighting the experiences of women excelling in the judiciary.

On the occasion, Dr. Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Council, praised women judges for strengthening the rule of law and enhancing the judicial system.

Sheikh Faisal Al Mualla, Secretary-General of the Council, noted women judges’ competence and vital role in safeguarding rights and promoting equality.

Counsellor Anwar Al Harmoudi, Attorney General of Sharjah, highlighted their contributions to justice with integrity and professionalism, while Judge Dr. Salama Al Ketbi, Head of the Judicial Inspection Department, emphasized empowering women in the judiciary.

The forum provided a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, reinforcing women’s presence in state institutions and their role as key partners in national development.
