Alia Bhatt fans have been eagerly waiting to get an update from her, after she was not seen on the red carpet of the much-anticipated 78th Cannes Film Festival, which kicked off on May 13 and will be running until May 24, 2025. Some reports suggested she skipped the event due to the tensions between India and Pakistan.
Now, according to a report by mid-day, Bhatt is likely to wrap up her shoot by the weekend for Love & War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, and then she is expected to travel to France and make an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony on May 24.
A source shared with the publication that “as the ambassador for a leading beauty brand, Alia remains committed to her global representation duties.”
The report further mentioned that Alia, along with co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, began filming key scenes earlier this week at Film City’s Joker Maidan. While the project officially commenced in October, this marks the first time all three leads are filming together. The current schedule, described as intense and emotionally heavy, is expected to continue through the week on specially constructed sets.
On the work front, Alia was last seen in the October 2024 release Jigra, which garnered mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Next in her kitty is Alpha, YRF’s first female-led entry in its Spy Universe, scheduled to release in December 2025, during the Christmas season.
