G42, the UAE-based AI and cloud computing powerhouse, concluded its annual flagship event, Supercharged 2025, gathering over 2,400 employees, global partners, and technology leaders in Abu Dhabi for a high-impact day of dialogue, innovation, and celebration.

Commemorating its seventh anniversary, G42 spotlighted major milestones, including the development of Stargate UAE and the upcoming five-gigawatt UAE–US AI Campus, reaffirming its mission to turn AI into a utility that is “always on and always learning.”

The event featured powerful virtual appearances by Microsoft President Brad Smith and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who both praised G42’s pioneering role in advancing AI. Smith highlighted Microsoft’s recent US$1.5 billion investment in G42 as a testament to the UAE firm’s people and strategy. Altman, meanwhile, noted G42’s early foresight in recognizing the transformative power of AI.

In his keynote address, G42 Group CEO Peng Xiao described the present as the “golden age of intelligence,” advocating for a human-centric approach to AI and suggesting that it be viewed as “alternative” or “accelerated” intelligence, rather than artificial.

The event also celebrated Marty Edelman, G42’s General Counsel, who received the inaugural G42 Catalyst Award for forging strategic partnerships with leading US tech firms and advancing G42’s global footprint through G42 Europe and G42 UK.

The 2025 edition offered in-depth insights into G42’s work across key sectors, including healthcare, space, cybersecurity, and clean energy. Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, detailed ambitious plans to extend healthy lifespan using AI and genomics. Meanwhile, UAE Cybersecurity Council head Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti highlighted the country’s advancements in digital resilience.

In a futuristic showcase, Alex Kipman, founder of Microsoft’s HoloLens team, unveiled new edge-computing systems developed in Abu Dhabi, including a live demonstration featuring eight robotic dogs. A panel on responsible AI spotlighted initiatives like Bee: Wild, which uses advanced technology to protect endangered pollinators.

G42 also debuted its refreshed brand identity and a next-gen AI-powered website, enabling voice- and text-based navigation. The event production set a regional benchmark, boasting 150 metres of LED screens and immersive 3D audio.

The day closed on a celebratory note with Peng Xiao capturing a selfie with the audience, followed by a global food journey and live entertainment. Underscoring its commitment to nurturing future talent, G42 welcomed five UAE university students—winners of its national AI competition—to experience the event first-hand.
