Global icon Jennifer Lopez has shed light on the emotional aftermath of her high-profile split from actor Ben Affleck in a newly released track that forms part of her upcoming music project.

Titled Wreckage of You, the ballad was unveiled during a fan-exclusive listening party in Los Angeles, where Lopez candidly shared that she co-wrote the song just two weeks ago. The track, which delves into themes of heartbreak, self-renewal, and emotional resilience, is already being described as one of her most vulnerable works to date.

“She spoke openly about how 2024 was a tough time for her, both personally and professionally,” said an attendee at the event. “The tour cancellation last year was a turning point—she needed space to focus on herself.”

The 55-year-old singer and actress cancelled her ‘This Is Me… Now’ tour in 2024 shortly before confirming her separation from Affleck, whom she had married in a high-profile union in 2022. Their relationship had previously been rekindled after nearly two decades apart, garnering global media attention.

Now preparing to return to the stage, Lopez appears to be turning personal adversity into creative energy. “She said she feels freer and stronger than ever. This new material reflects her emotional journey,” another attendee added.

Wreckage of You explores the pain of walking away from a relationship while highlighting the strength found in starting over. “It’s an empowering anthem about rebuilding,” said a guest. “You can feel the raw emotion in every lyric.”

Lopez kicks off her Up All Night world tour on July 8 in Pontevedra, Spain, with dates across Europe and the Middle East, including stops in the UAE, Egypt, Armenia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. She’s also set to begin a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting December 30, 2025.
