Emirates has expanded its acclaimed Premium Economy product to flights serving Malé and Colombo as part of its fleet-wide cabin enhancement programme. The airline has now deployed retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft with four-class configurations on key routes to the Maldives and Sri Lanka, reflecting its ongoing investment in premium customer experiences.
Flights EK656/657 and EK660/661 on the Dubai–Malé route are now operated by the upgraded Boeing 777. From 18 July, flight EK650/651 on the Dubai–Colombo route will also feature the enhanced aircraft. Emirates currently operates four daily flights to Malé, three of which now include Premium Economy. In Sri Lanka, this marks the second daily service with the upgraded cabin offering, joining the Emirates A350 service on EK654/655.
The Premium Economy cabins feature 24 spacious seats in a 2-4-2 layout with six-way adjustable headrests, generous recline, wider seats, and expanded legroom, positioned between the Business and Economy Class offerings. Passengers benefit from a generous 35kg checked baggage allowance and 10kg of carry-on baggage.
Onboard, travellers enjoy Emirates’ latest interiors, with the Business Class cabin inspired by the design of its flagship A380 aircraft. The 40 Business Class seats on the Boeing 777 are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering direct aisle access and fully flat beds that extend up to 78.6 inches. The in-flight entertainment system features a 23-inch HD screen – one of the largest in the sky.
The airline’s schedule to Malé includes flight EK656, departing Dubai at 02:30 hours and arriving in Malé at 07:40 hours. The return flight, EK657, departs Malé at 09:15 hours and reaches Dubai at 12:15 hours. Another daily service, EK660, departs from Dubai at 10:10 hours and arrives in Malé at 15:30 hours.
