European Union foreign ministers are scheduled to meet on Monday in Brussels under the chairmanship of Kaja Kallas, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss a wide range of urgent geopolitical developments.

The agenda includes a high-level review of the war in Ukraine, featuring a virtual exchange with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. The ministers will examine ongoing EU support mechanisms for Kyiv and assess the broader security implications for Europe.

Tensions in the Middle East are also expected to dominate the discussions, particularly developments in Gaza, Israel, and Iran. The ministers will review diplomatic efforts and humanitarian concerns as the region continues to experience volatility.

The situation in Georgia, currently under increased scrutiny following recent political shifts, will also be discussed, with ministers expected to consider potential measures in response.

A dedicated session will explore the “Mediterranean 2025” initiative, focusing on reforms to the Union for the Mediterranean Charter. The ministers will consider ways to strengthen regional cooperation and political dialogue.

Beyond the core agenda, the meeting will include updates on the EU’s external relations with key international partners, including China, Japan, Libya, Somalia, Moldova, and Caribbean states. These discussions aim to reinforce strategic cooperation and support regional stability.

The outcomes of Monday’s meeting are likely to shape EU foreign policy engagement heading into the second half of 2025.
