Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, has strongly condemned what he described as a renewed Iranian attack targeting the State of Kuwait with missiles and drones early Thursday.

In a statement, Aboul Gheit said the attack represented a serious violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, which was issued on March 11, 2026.

The Arab League chief said the repeated attacks against Kuwait undermine ongoing regional and international efforts aimed at reducing tensions and restoring stability across the Middle East.

He held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of what he described as unlawful actions that threaten regional security and international peace.

Aboul Gheit also reaffirmed the Arab League’s solidarity with Kuwait, stressing support for all measures taken by the Gulf nation to safeguard its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security in accordance with international law.

“The security of the State of Kuwait is an integral part of Arab national security,” the statement said.

The latest attack comes amid heightened tensions across the Gulf region, with concerns growing over the potential impact of escalating hostilities on regional stability, energy markets, and international shipping routes.
