The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), has successfully concluded the second leg of its trade mission to India with a high-level business forum and targeted B2B engagements in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The visit featured intensive discussions with economic stakeholders and private sector leaders aimed at bolstering bilateral investment, trade collaboration, and industrial integration between Sharjah and one of India’s fastest-growing industrial regions.

The Sharjah–India Business Forum in Ahmedabad drew participation from Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI; and Jamal Mohamed Sultan Binhuwaidin, SCCI Board Member. Also in attendance were representatives from the Chamber, as well as numerous business leaders and entrepreneurs from both countries.

The forum showcased key investment opportunities across sectors, from manufacturing to services, with a special emphasis on Sharjah’s investor-friendly policies, advanced infrastructure, and export support mechanisms. B2B meetings helped facilitate dialogue between businesses in both markets.

In his keynote address, Al Owais highlighted the upward trajectory in UAE–India trade, pointing out that India’s exports to the UAE stood at USD 37.1 billion in 2024, while India ranked as the UAE’s largest non-oil export destination, accounting for 13.5% of total exports and registering 75.2% growth over 2023.

“Through this mission, we aim to convert this positive momentum into fruitful partnerships between the business communities of the UAE and India in general, and between Sharjah and Ahmedabad in particular,” said Al Owais.

Sharjah’s appeal to Indian investors remains strong, with over 20,000 Indian companies currently operating in the emirate. The emirate also hosts more than 35% of the UAE’s total manufacturing base, making it a key industrial gateway for Indian firms.

During the mission, the SCCI delegation also conducted on-site visits to several economic and industrial institutions in Ahmedabad. These interactions focused on cooperation opportunities, knowledge exchange, and adoption of best practices, laying the groundwork for strategic partnerships.
